Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-25
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Tugce Ventures LLC ("Psst", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the Psst apps, the website at psst.dating and the wristbands used at Psst venues (together, the "Service"). By signing in or claiming a wristband you accept these Terms, our Community Guidelines and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who can use Psst
- You must be at least 21 years old, or 18 at a social event (Psst Events, section 2) whose organizer admits guests from 18, and legally able to enter into this agreement. Venues check identification at the door; Psst does not collect your date of birth or check your identity.
- You may have only one account, linked to your own Apple or Google sign-in.
- You may not use Psst if we have previously banned you, or if you are prohibited from receiving services under applicable law.
- You may not use Psst if you are required to register as a sex offender in any jurisdiction.
2. How the Service works
- Nights. Psst runs at participating venues on specific nights. Staff at the door activate ("arm") a wristband; you claim it with your phone by tapping it or typing the code printed inside. While your band is claimed you can see, and be seen by, other guests who claimed a band in the same venue that night.
- Psst and matches. A psst is anonymous until it is mutual. A mutual psst opens a chat that stays available until 24 hours after the night ends unless both people save it, in which case it becomes a connection.
- Room games. A venue may run games that pair guests at random, such as Drink Roulette or Dance Match. Joining is your choice, and either player can pass at any time. In a drink game the buyer pays the venue at the bar for any drink on its menu, alcohol-free included; Psst never pays for a drink and never serves alcohol. Pairing uses your gender and show-preferences as the Privacy Policy describes.
- Members. Your member profile persists between nights. Connections, Crossed paths and status sharing are optional features you control in Settings.
- Wristbands. Bands belong to the venue or to Psst unless the app tells you a band has become yours. Return bands at the exit when asked. Venues set their own policies on lost bands; Psst does not charge guests for them.
- Purchases. Using Psst at a venue is free. You may choose to buy a Psst band of your own from Psst under the Terms of Sale, and tickets or passes that a venue sells on its page; a venue is the seller of its tickets and passes, and Stripe processes the payment. Psst does not sell, serve or take payment for alcohol; drinks are sold and served by the venue under its own license and rules.
- Changes. We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time. Where a change materially affects you, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
Psst Events (social mode)
A venue or an organizer may run a night as a social event (Psst Events, also at psst.events) instead of a dating night: a work event, a networking or alumni night, a conference or a club.
- Same Service, other words. Saying hi works like a psst: anonymous until it goes both ways, then a chat; "Keep in touch" works like saving a match. These Terms, the Community Guidelines and every safety tool apply unchanged.
- Age. A social event is for guests 18 or older, or 21 or older where the venue chooses it; dating nights stay 21+. You confirm the age the night asks for when you claim a band, and the venue's door check remains the age gate.
- No dating features. At a social event Psst does not use your gender or show-preferences, and leaves out dating details, drink features and dating games.
- Organizers and employers see aggregate numbers only, never who said hi to whom or what anyone wrote.
3. Your account
You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your Apple or Google sign-in secure. Tell us at [email protected] if you think your account has been used without your permission. You can delete your account at any time in Settings; see the Privacy Policy for what is deleted and what we must keep.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you add — your photo, nickname, bio and messages ("Your Content"). You grant Psst a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display (including with a watermark) and transmit Your Content solely to operate, secure and improve the Service. This license ends when Your Content is deleted, except for copies kept for safety, legal hold or backup as described in the Privacy Policy.
The public wall. When you post a snapshot to a venue's wall, you also allow that venue to share it, through Psst, to Psst's public wall, and allow Psst to show it there to every signed-in member for up to 30 days. A shared post names only the venue and the date, never you. You can turn this off in Settings, which takes back everything already shared at once, or take back a single post at any time. Venues may not copy a shared post out of Psst or use it elsewhere without your separate permission.
You confirm that Your Content is yours to share, is accurate, and follows the Community Guidelines. Your profile photo must show you: a selfie taken in the app or a photo of you from your library, without filters that hide who you are. We may review, refuse or remove content and may moderate photos before they are shown.
5. Conduct
You agree to follow the Community Guidelines and not to:
- harass, threaten, deceive or harm anyone, or collect information about other members;
- screenshot, record or share other members' profiles or messages outside the Service;
- use the Service for commercial purposes, advertising or solicitation;
- tamper with wristbands, write to their chips, or claim a band that isn't yours;
- interfere with the Service, bypass its limits or security, scrape it or access it by automated means;
- use the Service in violation of any law.
6. Safety
Psst provides safety tools — reporting, blocking, staff alerts, invisibility and watermarking — but we cannot guarantee anyone's conduct. Psst does not conduct criminal background checks or identity verification on its members. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other people, inside and outside the venue. Read the Safety Center before you meet anyone. In an emergency, call 911; Psst does not contact emergency services for you.
7. Venues
Venues are independent businesses. They are responsible for their premises, their staff, age verification at the door, alcohol service and their own policies. Psst is not responsible for venue decisions, including refusing entry, refusing service or ending a guest's night. Perks offered by a venue are provided by that venue at its discretion and may be withdrawn at any time. A venue that shares posts to the public wall does so under its agreement with Psst and the Community Guidelines; Psst applies members' choices automatically and may remove anything a venue shared.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access, disable a band, or remove content if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms or the Community Guidelines, put anyone at risk, or exposed Psst or a venue to legal liability. Accounts reported at two venues, or three times in one night, are suspended automatically pending review. Banned members may not create new accounts. You may stop using Psst and delete your account at any time.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Psst disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that you will meet anyone, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that wristbands will be read by every phone.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Psst will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from or related to the Service or your interactions with other members or venues. Psst's total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of USD 100 or the amount you paid Psst in the 12 months before the claim (which, for guests, is normally zero). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Psst harmless from claims arising from your use of the Service, Your Content or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
12. Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect and ask you to accept it again where required. If you keep using Psst after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply.
